The virtues of Microsoft Excel

We know we love our Microsoft Excel! Let me count the ways:

1. Get it done now! Microsoft Excel have 300 over functions and dozen’s of add-ins to solve any business modelling or reporting problem right on the spot.

2. Low cost modelling platform. Microsoft Excel comes cheap as part of the Microsoft Office Suite CD (~300USD or less?). Use it as a low cost platform to perform business modelling or proof-of-concept for a budget, instead of using an expensive full enterprise information system.

3. Powerful charting features. Excel charts is one of the most flexible you can find on the PC desktop today. Any part of a chart can be formatted. Many business intelligence software still can’t match the charting flexibility of Excel.

4. Vast data connections. Excel can connect to many major databases such as Oracle, SAP, DB2, Lotus123 and the list goes on. Almost any sort of database records can be converted into Excel for processing and analysis.
